Boyfriend Does My Voice Over! | Fall Olive Green Makeup Tutorial

I have been looking forward to filming this video for a long, long time.  When I first saw the "Boyfriend/Husband Does My Makeup" tag video being shared a couple of months ago, I immediately knew I HAD to get in on it!

The only thing my boyfriend, Brandon, knows about makeup is that it's expensive.  He doesn't know the difference between a Beauty Blender and a Complexion Sponge, and couldn't care less about the different foundation undertones that one can purchase.  However, he does know that makeup and creating makeup looks and tutorials is a big passion of mine, and was actually excited at the opportunity to help me out with a video!

The premise: I film a tutorial, edit it, sit him down at the computer with a microphone, and give him full liberty to describe my makeup application as he wishes.  At times he is hilarious in both his simplistic approach to describing the makeup and brushes, and the self-deprecating nature of makeup tutorials in general.

We both had a lot of fun making this, and I hope you enjoy watching!

Glowing Bronze & Dark Lip Fall Makeup Tutorial

Fall makeup becomes something sublimely beautiful when a dark lip is involved.  While the weather is cooling and days are shortening, the lipstick shades are darkening.  Deep purples, sultry reds, and dark browns abound and fill the aisles of beauty stores.

Whenever attempting a dark lip always remember to pair it with more subtle or natural blush, contour and eye shadow colors.  The star of the show will always be the dark lipstick, and any attempt to overpower it with dark face and eye shades will leave you looking like you're headed to a Marilyn Manson concert.  Which is cool if that's what you like, but for the majority a dark lipstick wants to appear regal beautiful.  Stick with light shades like I did her, utilizing brown, copper/gold, and tan for that effortless glowing look..

Also, take your time applying that dark lipstick.  If you make any mistakes use a small amount of concealer to "clean up" any messy areas.  Dark lipstick can be woefully unforgiving.  However, no need to take it seriously, as makeup should be fun and you should feel free to try out new and different lipstick shades!

Fall Makeup & Fall Sunset Makeup Tutorial | Morphe 35O Palette

 

FALL! It is my favorite season for many reasons, but one of the best is all the new and exciting fall makeup looks.  Mauves, browns, red, oranges; the fall makeup palette is endless with beautiful shades.

This makeup look was inspired by fall sunsets and sunrises.  There is nothing as beautiful as watching the sun go down on a crisp fall night, turning the sky into transient hues of pinks, purples and oranges as it fades behind a multi-colored tree line.  What I love most about this look is the bright pop of shimmery copper beneath the lower lash line.  It plays off the browns and oranges so well.

You know when it's time to start rocking this look when pumpkin EVERYTHING starts hitting the stores.  Personally, I got my very first Starbucks Pumpkin Spiced Latte of the season yesterday.  So grab your favorite fall beverage and let's get into this tutorial!
