Egyptian Goddess Glam Halloween Makeup Tutorial

This Egyptian Glam Halloween makeup tutorial is beautiful, sleek, and is a great option for any last minute costume ideas.  You can style this look with a simple headband and statement necklace like I did, or go all-out with a full Egyptian Goddess inspired costume!  Whether you chose to keep tit simple or take it Queen of the Nile style, this look is sure to make an impression.

This is my final look for this year's Halloween season.  I loved creating every single one of them, including Wicked Witch, Glam Vampire, and Vampy Ombre Lips. Sunday starts a new month, and with it a new set of tutorials!  You can expect holiday glam makeup tutorials, monthly favorites, and my new DIY Beauty Series every Sunday in November.

Let's get started!

The Face

Prep, Foundation and Concealer

I moisturize my face with Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion and my under eye area with ELF Eye Illuminating Cream.  I prime my skin with Laura Mercier Foundation Primer in Radiance and prime my under eye area with ELF Hydrating Under Eye Primer.  Using a Beauty Blender, I apply a mixture of Maybelline Fit Me Matte and Poreless Foundation in Soft Tan and Kat Von D Lock-It Tattoo Foundation in Light 29 to my entire face.  To highlight and conceal I use Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Concealer in Light Warm in a V-shape beneath my eyes, in the middle of my forehead, down the bridge of my nose, on my chin, and on my eye lids.

Highlight and Set

To set everything I take the Real Techniques Setting Brush and place a mixture of the highlight shades Lucid and Lyric from the Kat Von D Shade and Light Contour Palette and place a generous amount over the areas that I highlighted with concealer.  I also add a generous amount to my jaw directly below my contour line.  I allow the extra powder to sit on my skin for a few minutes to "bake" before brushing off with a Morphe Brushes G23 Soft Fan Brush.

Contour

With the Real Techniques Sculpting Brush I take the contour shade Sombre from the Kat Von D palette and contour beneath my cheekbones, underneath my jaw bone, along the hairline on my forehead, down my temples, and alone the parallel sides of the bridge of my nose.  After blending I apply the fourth blush color from the Morphe Brushes 9B Palette, a pale nude pink, using the blush brush from the BH Cosmetics Party Girl Brush Set.  

Highlight

Using the same fan brush as earlier, I then apply the pale pink highlight shade from the Lorac Tantalizer Highlighter and Matte Bronzer Duo to the tops of my cheekbones, my forehead just above my brows, and the bridge of my nose.

Brows

I shape my brows with the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz in Ebony, fill it in with the ABH Brow Powder in Medium Brown, and set it into place with the ABH Clear Brow Gel.

The Eyes

This eye look takes some time to accomplish but the payoff is well worthwhile.  Take your time creating clean and well defined lines, there isn't a lot of blending involved with this one.

Transition Shade

I take the color Deep Skin by Morphe Brushes, a soft gold peach, with a fluffy blending brush into the crease of my eye and start blending upward.  This is going to be our transition shade.  I make sure to place this transition shade from the very inner corner and across the top of my crease.  I bring this shade all the way past the end of my outer corner almost to the end point of my eyebrow line.  We want to create the appearance an extra elongated eye lid.

Crease Line

I take the color Naughty Girl by Morphe Brushes, a velvety blue purple, and carefully begin to trace a line starting just below the transition color and in the middle of my crease and working outward.   I follow this line all the way past the end of my outer corner and finish where I did my transition shade.

I go back in with Naught Girl again and again carefully begin to trace a line from the middle of the crease down to my inner corner.  Make sure this line always remains below the transition shade.  I end this part of the line well past my inner corner and bring it up about one centimeter onto the crest of my nose.

Now that the structure of the line has been drawn, I go back in with more Naughty Girl and darken and thicken up the entire line from corner to corner.  Remember to keep your lines clean and defined while doing this, and only place this color within the crease.

Lid, Liner and Wing

Using a flat shadow brush I take the shade Gold from the Lorac Pro palette and place this all over my entire lid, from inner corner to outer corner, building up the color.

I take the NARS Larger Than Life Long-wear Eyeliner in Via Vento (black) and begin to trace a thick line from my inner corner, below my lower lash line, and to the very outer corner of my eyelid.  I go back to my inner corner with this liner and trace a slim line up to meet the line I drew onto the crest of my nose with Naughty Girl.  This is to make the eye look super sharp and defined.

I take a small angled brush to draw on my eye liner using the NYX Gel Liner in Jet Black.  After creating the wing and allowing it to dry, I take the ELF Liquid Eyeliner in Copper and place this the bottom half of my lid over top the Gold to add some shine and sparkle.

Mascara and Falsies

I apply Benefit Roller Lash mascara to my lashes.  For my falsies I choose Eylure London Lengthening Lashes No. 35 and apply them using the Vegas Nay by Eylure Lash Glue.  In order go give the eyes a more feline-like appearance, I stack Morphe Brushes Black Lashes #307 over the outer corner of the Eyelure lashes.

The Lips

For this look I wanted my lips to be ultra glam and bronzed.

I line my lips with the NYX Slim Lip Pencil in Nude Truffle and then fill in my lips with NYX High Voltage Lipstick in Stone.  I finish everything off I apply a thick coat of Lorac Tantalizer Lip Gloss in Marco.

I set the entire look with Urban Decay De-slick Makeup Setting Spray.

Smokey Gunmetal Grey Makeup Tutorial

As the weather grows colder and the days get shorter, my looks go from bright and vivid to dark and neutral.  I am in love with greys and taupes right now.  They are hands-down my go-to shades during the fall and winter.  This smokey gunmetal grey makeup look is edgy, complete with a nude lip and spiky false lashes (because who can't use a pair of spiky lashes in their life?).

Next month, in anticipation of the holiday season, I plan on featuring more warm-tone makeup looks.  Oranges, cranberries, and light browns have been calling my name!  I am ready for some red lips and sparkling eyelids, so prepare yourselves.  

In other exciting news: this was the very LAST makeup tutorial I photographed with my iPhone 6.  My amazing Uncle and Godfather was inspired to invest in my blog and business and sent me a Canon Rebel T5, complete with every accessory I could ever ask for.  I'm so excited to take my blog to the next level in terms of photography and appearance.  It was truly an exciting blessing.

 
 The Face

To set everything I take the Real Techniques Setting Brush and place a mixture of the highlight shades Lucid and Lyric from the Kat Von D Shade and Light Contour Palette and place a generous amount over the areas that I highlighted with concealer.  I also add a generous amount to my jaw directly below my contour line.  I allow the extra powder to sit on my skin for a few minutes to "bake" before brushing off with a Morphe Brushes G23 Soft Fan Brush.

Using the same fan brush as earlier, I then apply the first shade of pale white highlighter from the Carli Bybel by BH Cosmetics Palette to the tops of my cheekbones, my forehead just above my brows, and the bridge of my nose.

I shape my brows with the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz in Ebony, fill it in with the ABH Brow Powder in Medium Brown, and set it into place with the ABH Clear Brow Gel.

The Eyes

 I take the color ES13 (Deep Skin) by Morphe Brushes, a soft gold peach, with a fluffy blending brush into the crease of my eye and start blending upward.  This is going to be our transition shade.

 Using the Lorac Pro palette I then apply Taupe directly into my crease with a small tapered blending brush using windshield wiper motions.  I reapply this color a couple times to build the color, making sure it blends into my transition shade but stays directly within the crease.

Using a flat shadow brush I take the color Slate from the Lorac Pro palette, a deep shimmer grey, and press it onto the center of my eye lid.  Once the color is as vibrant as I want it to be, I then go back in with a blending brush and just make sure the crease and the outer V are evenly blended into the grey and there are no harsh lines.  I then go back in to the copper and add just a touch more color to the center of my lid.  

I use the color Sable, a dark red-brown, from the Lorac Pro palette to define my outer corner.  I apply this directly to the outer third of my eye lid in the shape of a sideways "V" to smoke out the look. While I make sure to concentrate the color only to this area, I take it up into my crease and down into my lower lash line ever so slightly so as to enhance the smokey effect.

I take a small angled brush to draw on my eye liner using the NYX Gel Liner in Jet Black.  I get as close to the lash line as possible and press down on the lid to create a black line.  I wing this out when I reach the outer corner of my eye.

I then use the color Champagne, a frosted nude, from the Lorac Pro palette to highlight the inner tear duct with a fluffy blending brush, and a small flat shadow brush to highlight my brow bone just below my eyebrow.

Finally, I take the color Taupe again and glide it below my bottom lash line using a small eye defining brush, making sure to blend into the outer corner of my eye to give the entire look a rounded out smokey eye.  To add some dimension and soften any harshness I go over the bottom of this color with our original transition color.

I apply Benefit Roller Lash mascara to my lashes.  For my falsies I choose Eylure London Definition Lashes No. 126 and apply them using the Vegas Nay by Eylure Lash Glue.

The Lips

I wanted to keep the lips simple, nude and glossy for this heavy eye look.  I used Rimmel London Show Off Lip Lacquer in Nude Eclipse to both line and fill in my lips.

Glam Vampy Red Makeup Tutorial

My idea for this look was to create something sultry and vampy while still remaining wearable.  This red lip with matching soft red eyes would go well pared with vampire teeth, green and yellow werewolf contacts, a devil's horn headband, witch's hat, or any other creative creature accessory you can come up with.  It is a great way to put together any last minute Halloween costume (15 days and counting!).

Within the next two weeks I will be posting several more Halloween inspired looks that are easy to pull off and accessorize.  Check out my previous post Vampy Ombre Lips to add even more glam to this look with a vampy, pigmented red-orange ombre lip in place of the bright red.

How I Got This Look

The Face

Using the same fan brush as earlier, I then apply the first shade of pale white highlighter from the Carli Bybel by BH Cosmetics Palette to the tops of my cheekbones, my forehead just above my brows, and the bridge of my nose.

I shape my brows with the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz in Ebony, fill it in with the ABH Brow Powder in Medium Brown, and set it into place with the ABH Clear Brow Gel.

The Eyes

I have been using the BH Cosmetics Party Girl Brush Set for applying my eye makeup.  Using the Urban Decay Naked 2 Basics palette I take the color Frisk, a matte warm grey, with a fluffy blending brush into the crease of my eye and start blending upward.  This is going to be our transition shade.

I then apply Cover, a matte red-brown, directly into my crease with a small tapered blending brush using windshield wiper motions.  I reapply this color a couple times to build the color, making sure it blends into my transition shade but stays directly within the crease.

Using a flat shadow brush I take the red-orange blush color from the Morphe Brushes 9B Blush Palette and press it onto the center of my eye lid and bring it down into my inner corner.  Once the color is as pigmented as I want it to be I go in with the shade Bitten by Makeup Geek, a matte deep maroon red, to increase the red color.   I then go back in with a crease brush and just make sure the crease and the outer V are just slightly blended enough that there are no harsh lines.

I use the color Primal, a matte brown, to define my outer corner.  I apply this directly to the outer third of my eye lid in the shape of a sideways "V" to smoke out the look ever so slightly.  I also add a little of the color Undone, a smokey matte brown, over top of where I placed Primal to darken the outer corner.

I take a small angled brush to draw on my eye liner using the NYX Gel Liner in Jet Black.  I get as close to the lash line as possible and press down on the lid to create a black line.  I wing this out when I reach the outer corner of my eye.

I then use the color Skimp, a pale nude satin, to highlight the inner tear duct with a fluffy blending brush, and a small flat shadow brush to highlight my brow bone just below my eyebrow.

Finally, I take the color Cover again and glide it below my bottom lash line using a small eye defining brush, making sure to blend into the outer corner of my eye to give the entire look a rounded appearance.  To add some dimension and soften any harshness I go over this color with our original transition color, Frisk.

To finish I curl my lashes and apply mascara using Benefit Cosmetics Roller Lash.  Using the Vegas Nay by Eylure Lash Glue I apply the Vegas Nay by Eylure lashes in Easy Elegance.

The Lips

I wanted the lips to stand out in this look just as much as the eyes.  I line my lips using Femme Fatale Lip Pencil by Essence Cosmetics.  I fill in the rest of my lips with NARS Velvet Matte Lip pencil in Cruella.  Finally, I layer Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Bachelorette over everything.

I set the entire look with Urban Decay De-slick Makeup Setting Spray.

Smokey Purple Gold Makeup Tutorial

Who couldn't use a glamorous makeup look in their lives?  With holidays coming up and parties to go to, festive looks like this can stun and impress.  Not to say that you couldn't dress this down; I'm a big fan of yoga pants and baggy PINK sweatshirts.

How I Got This Look

The Face

Starting with the basics: I moisturize my face with Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion and my under eye area with ELF Eye Illuminating Cream.  I prime my skin with Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer in Light and prime my under eye area with ELF Hydrating Under Eye Primer.  Using a Beauty Blender, I apply a mixture of Maybelline Matte and Poreless Fit Me Foundation in Soft Tan and Kat Von D Lock-It Tattoo Foundation in Light 29 to my entire face.  To highlight and conceal I use NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in Vanilla in a V-shape beneath my eyes, in the middle of my forehead, down the bridge of my nose, on my chin, and on my eye lids.

Using the same fan brush as earlier, I then apply the Jaclyn Hill by Becca Cosmetics Champagne Pop highlighter to the tops of my checkbones, my forehead just above my brows, and the bridge of my nose.

I shape my brows with the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz in Ebony, fill it in with the ABH Brow Powder in Medium Brown, and set it into place with the ABH Clear Brow Gel.

The Eyes

Lately I have been using and loving the BH Cosmetics Party Girl Brush Set for applying my eye makeup.  Using the color ES13 by Morphe Brushes, a soft gold peach, with a fluffy blending brush into the crease of my eye and start blending upward.  This is going to be our transition shade.

Using the Morphe Brushes 35N palette I then apply the very middle color, a matte medium purple directly into my crease with a small tapered blending brush using windshield wiper motions.  I reapply this color a couple times to build the color, making sure it blends into my transition shade but stays directly within the crease.
  Using a flat shadow brush I take the color Half Baked from the Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette, a shimmer golden bronze, and press it onto the center of my eye lid as a base for our next color.  I then take the color ES47 by Morphe Brushes, a shimmer pumpkin/apricot orange, and place this on top of Half Baked.  Once the color is as vibrant as I want it to be, I then go back in with a crease brush and just make sure the crease and the outer V are just slightly blended enough that there are no harsh lines.  For this look I want to be able to see the separation of purple and gold, but I want it to be clean difference and do not want it to look harsh.  I then go back in to ES47 and add just a touch more color to the center of my lid.

I use the third to last color on the 35N palette, a matte dark purple, to define my outer corner.  I apply this directly to the outer third of my eye lid in the shape of a sideways "V" to smoke out the look ever so slightly.

I take a small angled brush to draw on my eye liner using the NYX Gel Liner in Jet Black.  I get as close to the lash line as possible and press down on the lid to create a black line.  I wing this out just a little when I reach the outer corner of my eye.

I then use the color Bootycall, a shimmering cork, from the Naked2 palette to highlight the inner tear duct with a fluffy blending brush, and a small flat shadow brush to highlight my brow bone just below my eyebrow.

Finally, I take the medium purple color again from the 35N palette and glide it below my bottom lash line using a small eye defining brush, making sure to blend into the outer corner of my eye to give the entire look a rounded appearance.  To add some dimension and soften any harshness I go over the purple color with our original transition color, ES13, and then take a small angled liner brush and add a pop of ES47, the shimmer orange color we used on the lid, to the middle of my bottom lash line and blend it into the purple.

To finish I curl my lashes and apply mascara using Benefit Cosmetics Roller Lash.  Using the Vegas Nay by Eylure Lash Glue I apply the Vegas Nay Easy Elegance lashes.

 
The Lips

To compliment this sleek eye look I decide on a shimmery pink lip.  First, I line my lips using NYX Slim Lip Liner in Nude Pink.  Then, I fill in my lips with L'Oreal Paris Color Riche 620 in Julianne's Nude.  Last, I use NYX Glam Gloss in Paint The Town to add a sparkly and glossy finishing sheen.
